The Strategy of Coping with the Life Conditions of Informal Caregivers Taking Care of Risk and Fragile Seniors in Home Environment.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá strategií zvládání životních situací neformálními pečujícími při péči o rizikové a křehké seniory v domácím prostředí. Cílem práce je analyzovat způsoby jakými se neformální pečující vyrovnávají se zátěžovou situací péče o rizikové a křehké seniory v domácím prostředí a identifikovat možnosti podpory pečujícím pro snazší zvládání těchto situací. V teoretické části práce je věnován prostor vymezení teoretických, empirických a metodologických východisek práce, objasnění termínů jako jsou neformální pečující, rizikoví a křehcí senioři, dlouhodobá péče v domácím prostředí, také způsob zvládání nových životních situací. Výzkumná část se odráží od teoretických poznatků. Cílem výzkumné části práce bylo zjistit, jak neformální pečující o křehké a rizikové seniory na Prostějovsku zvládají svoje současné životní situace a zjistit, co by jim v této situaci mohlo pomoci. Výzkumné šetření bylo zaměřené na kvalitativní přístup, formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s osmi komunikačními partnery z řad neformálních pečujících o křehké seniory v domácím prostředí. Jejich výpovědi byly analyzovány a zhodnoceny.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the strategies of coping with life situations of informal caregivers who care for the frail elderly in home environment. The goal of the thesis is to analyze ways informal caregivers cope with the stress caring for the frail elderly in home environment brings and to find ways to support the caregivers in these situations. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on defining theoretical, empirical and methodological resources of the thesis, clarification of terms such as informal caregivers, frail elderly, long-term care in home environment, also a way of coping with new life situations. The research part is based on the theoretical findings. The goal of this part was to find how informal caregivers of the frail elderly in Prostějovsko cope with their current life situations and to find what could help them in this situation. The research was focused on qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with eight communication partners from the ranks of informal caregivers for the frail elderly in home environments. Their answers were analyzed and rated.
