The Use of Information and Communication Technologies by Children in a Children’s home

Abstract:

Diplomová práce s názvem „Využívání informačních a komunikačních technologií dětmi v dětském domově“ se zaměřuje na problematiku užívání těchto moderních technologií dětmi umístěnými v ústavní výchově. Časově je zkoumána situace během jarního období celosvětové pandemie nového typu koronaviru SARS-CoV-2, jejímž následkem bylo plošné uzavření škol v České republice a následná realizace distanční výuky. Cílem této teoreticko-empirické práce je stručné představení forem náhradní rodinné péče, dále vymezení samotného pojmu „Informační a komunikační technologie“ a jejich působení v období pandemie na různorodé společenské oblasti. V empirické části je následně analyzováno využívání těchto technologií ve vybraném dětském domově prostřednictvím pozorování, analýzy produktů a v neposlední řadě také rozhovorů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis entitled "The Use of Information and Communication Technologies by Children in a Children's Home" focuses on the issue of using modern technologies by children placed in institutional care. The situation during the spring period of the global pandemic of a new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is examined, which resulted in a widespread closure of schools in the Czech Republic and subsequent implementation of distant learning. The aim of this theoretical-empirical work is a brief introduction of the forms of alternative family care, then defining the very concept "Information and Communication Technologies" and their impact into various areas of society during the pandemic. Afterwards, the empirical part analyzes the use of the technologies in a selected children's home through observation, analysis of products and, last but not least, through interviews.
