Modern Communication and Social Networks on the Labour Market

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá možnostmi a potenciálem, který nabízí moderní sociální a komunikační sítě na trhu práce a to nejen z pohledu zaměstnanců a uchazečů o zaměstnání, ale také z pohledu personalistů a zaměstnavatelů. Část práce jsem věnoval také několika negativním možnostem těchto sítí, mezi které patří mimo jiné tzv. kyberšikana a obtěžování. Vzhledem k primárním účelům, pro které byly jednotlivé sociální sítě vytvořeny, jsem se zaměřil především na síť LinkedIn a dále v menší části na síť Facebook. V rámci svého výzkumného projektu jsem poté stanovil celkem 4 hypotézy, které jsem postupně potvrzoval nebo vyvracel pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Cílem hypotéz bylo zjistit, zda lidé znají možnosti, které jim nabízejí sociální sítě nejen při hledání, ale také při výkonu jejich zaměstnání a do jaké míry tyto možnosti využívají. Jedna z hypotéz se také věnovala zkušenostem, které mají uživatelé se zneužíváním sociálních sítí. Závěrem ve své práci shrnuji, že lidé jsou v dnešní době informováni o potenciálu sociálních sítí až v překvapivé míře, ovšem pravděpodobně ještě potrvá, než se tyto možnosti začnou plně využívat v praxi.

Abstract:

This work deals with the possibilities and potential of modern social and communication networks in the labor market. The work does not tackle the problem only from point of view of employees and applicants, but also from the perspective of recruiters and employers. Part of the work is dedicated to several negative aspects of the networks such as so-called cyber-bullying and harassment. Based on the primary purposes, for which the social networks were created, I focused primarily on the LinkedIn network and to a lesser extent on Facebook network. As a part of the research, four hypotheses were set, which I gradually confirmed or disproved through a questionnaire survey. The aim of the hypotheses was to determine, whether people are aware of the possibilities offered by social networking sites, not only in search for their job, but also during their career, and to which extent do they use them. One of the hypothesis is also devoted to the experience users have with the abuse of social networks. In the last chapter of my work I summarize that people are nowadays surprisingly very much aware of the potential of social network, but it will probably take some time before these options become fully used in common practice.
