Options of using assistive devices and barrier free adjustments at households for clients after suffering spinal cord injury

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje možnostem kompenzačních pomůcek u klientů po míšní lézi. Je převážně zaměřena na klienty s tetraplegií. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. V rámci vymezení teoretických východisek je popsána problematika míšního poranění z anatomického hlediska, jsou popsány klinické projevy a zdravotní důsledky a komplikace míšní léze. V teoretické části práce představuji také dělení a systém hrazení kompenzačních pomůcek a parametry bezbariérovosti. Následně je sepsána praktická část, kde je vymezena diagnóza klienta s tetraplegií a vstupní ergoterapeutické vyšetření. Práce dále aplikuje konkrétní teoretická východiska při vytvoření krátkodobého terapeutického plánu pro klienta s tetraplegií. Cílem bakalářské práce je seznámení široké veřejnosti s problematikou míšního poranění a s možnostmi kompenzačních pomůcek a bezbariérových úprav v domácnosti.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with possibilities of assistive technologies for clients after spinal cord injury. It mainly focuses on clients with quadriplegia. Work is divided into theoretical and practical part. Within the definition of the theoretical basis is described the issue of spinal injury from an anatomical point of view, they are described clinical symptoms and health consequences and complications of spinal cord lesion. In the theoretical part also I represent the separation and settling aids and parameters of accessibility. Subsequently written a practical part, which is defined by the client's diagnosis with quadriplegia and occupational therapy entrance examination. The work also applies specific theoretical background when creating short-term treatment plan for a client with quadriplegia. The aim of the thesis is to acquaint the public with the issue of spinal cord injuries and possibilities of assistive devices and barrier-free modifications in the home.
