An Only Child and Family Upbringing

Abstract:

Předložená práce se věnuje problematice výchovy jedináčků a dopadů jedináčkovství na život jedince. Rodina a rodinné prostředí mají silný vliv na osobnost a chování jedince. Významnou roli hraje podle odborníků také to, zda má dítě sourozence a případně také pořadí jeho narození. Cílem práce je popsat, jakým způsobem vnímají jedináčci skutečnost, že byli vychováváni jako jedináčci a jakým způsobem je tato skutečnost v dospělém životě ovlivnila. Zjišťováno bylo zejména to, jak ovlivnilo jedináčkovství profesní a rodinný život dotazovaných a jaké jsou podle respondentů klady a zápory jedniáčkovství. Za účelem dosažení tohoto cíle byl realizován kvalitativní výzkum formou rozhovorů, které by byli následně analyzovány. Do výzkumu se zapojilo šest jedináčků ve věku od 35 do 45 let. Obsah rozhovorů byl zpracován prostřednictvím otevřeného kódování a následně byl analyzován za účelem zodpovězení výzkumných otázek.

Abstract:

The presented work is devoted to the issue of raising only children and the effects of being an only child on an individual's life. The family and family environment have a strong influence on an individual's personality and behavior. According to experts, an important role is also played by whether the child has siblings and possibly also the order of his birth. The aim of the work is to describe how only children perceive the fact that they were raised as only children and how this fact influenced them in adult life. In particular, it was investigated how single parenthood affected the professional and family life of the interviewees and what the respondents thought were the pros and cons of single parenthood. In order to achieve this goal, qualitative research was carried out in the form of interviews, which would then be analyzed. Six only children between the ages of 35 and 45 participated in the research. The content of the interviews was processed through open coding and subsequently analyzed to answer the research questions.
