The impact of liberalization on passenger rail transport on the route Prague - Ostrava

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá situací na železniční trati Praha -- Ostrava. Došlo zde k otevření trhu soukromým dopravcům a tato práce zkoumá jeho vliv. V první části je popsán historický vývoj na železnici v Čechách. Dále práce zmiňuje teorie, které se tématu liberalizace dotýkají, vysvětluje, co liberalizace znamená, obnáší a jaká jsou její úskalí a pozitiva. Ukazuje kroky státu a Evropské unie k liberalizaci a globalizaci železnice. Následuje představení a následné porovnání tuzemských dopravců fungujících na trati Praha -- Ostrava. V neposlední řadě přináší výsledky provedeného průzkumu na téma vliv liberalizace na osobní železniční dopravu na trati Praha -- Ostrava a odpovídá na otázku, zda byla liberalizace dobrou volbou.

Abstract:

The work deals with the situation on the railway line Prague- Ostrava. There has been opening up the market to private operators, and this work investigates his influence. The first part describes the historical development of the railways in the country. The work also mentions theories concerning liberalization, explains chat liberalization implies, involves and what are the pitfalls and positives. Work shows the steps of the state and the European Union on the liberalization and globalization of the railroad. Follow the introduction and comparison of domestic carriers operating on the railroad Prague- Ostrava. Finally, it presents the results of the survey conducted on the effect of liberalization on rail passenger transport on the railroad Prague -- Ostrava and answers the question of whether liberalization was a good choice.
