Care for Children in Shelters for Mothers with Children

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá poskytováním odborné péče dětem žijících v azylových domech pro matky s dětmi. Práce je rozdělena do dvou základních částí. Teoretická část se věnuje příčinám, které vedou ke ztrátě bydlení matek s dětmi, jsou zde popsány dopady nefunkčního rodinného zázemí a následného bezdomovství na děti, které se mohou se svou matkou stát klienty azylových domů a v neposlední řadě je zde charakterizován samotný azylový dům pro matky s dětmi a současný způsobem realizace volnočasových aktivit pro děti v těchto zařízeních v České republice. Právě výchovné působení prostřednictvím volnočasových aktivit je jednou z možností jak systematicky pracovat s dětmi v azylových domech, proto se zde krátce věnuji i teoretickému vymezení volného času a jeho ovlivňováním pod odborným pedagogickým vedením. Empirická část podává zprávu o provedeném kvalitativním výzkumu, jehož cílem bylo popsat a porozumět způsobu realizace odborné péče o děti v Domově pro matky s dětmi v Hradci Králové. Pro svůj výzkum jsem zvolila design případové studie, přičemž případ byl vybírán záměrně jako příklad dobré praxe.

Abstract:

This master's thesis deals with providing professional care for children living in shelters for mothers with children. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with the causes leading to the loss of housing of mothers with children, describes effects of dysfunctional family background and subsequent homelessness on children who together with their mothers may become clients of shelters and last but not least, a shelter for mothers with children itself is characterized there as well as the current implementation of leisure activities for children in these facilities in the Czech Republic. The educational influence of leisure activities is one way to systematically work with children in shelters, so a brief part of the thesis is also devoted to the theoretical definition of leisure and its influence under the professional educational leadership. The empirical section reports on qualitative research conducted with the aim to describe and understand the implementation of professional care for children in the Home for mothers with children in Hradec Kralove. For my research I have chosen the design case studies, the case was deliberately chosen as an example of good practice.
