Persistent application container for PHP platform

Abstract:

The thesis is devoted to containers for the platform PHP and their benefits within a server side software development. Contemporary applications generally become more complex, whereas flexible architecture is more beneficial than the amount of implemented functionality itself. This implicates a necessity of use containers responsible for management of dependencies in object-oriented solutions. The PHP platform hides an opportunity to implement a container which would persists in computer memory, whereby it could provide object sharing for ongoing requests, against the fact that PHP is a scripting language. Hence, a goal is examination of current containers features, propose a draft of the persistent application container and verify whether the idea of persistence can be considered as a legitimate solution.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje aplikačním kontejnerům v rámci platformy PHP a jejím přínosům v rámci vývoje software. Dnešní aplikace se obecně stávají mnohem komplexnějšími, přičemž flexibilní architektura je mnohem důležitější než počet implementovaných funkcionalit. Toto si žádá použití kontejnerů zodpovědných za správu závislostí objektově orientovaných řešení. Platforma PHP umožňuje implementovat kontejner, který setrvává v operační paměti a dokáže tak zajistit sdílení objektů mezi jednotlivými skripty. Tudíž, cílem je prozkoumat schopnosti kontejnerů, navrhnout prototyp persistentní aplikačního kontejneru a ověřit, zdali myšlenka persistence může být považována za právoplatné řešení.
