Restorative justice in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

V Diplomové práci se zabývám restorativní justicí v podmínkách ČR. V části teoretické shrnuji vše podstatné z legislativní oblasti, zabývám se problematikou Probační a Mediační služby a věnuji se rovněž mediačním a probační činnostem či otázce alternativních trestů. V praktické části pak v rámci vlastního výzkumu pojednávám o středisku Probační a mediační služby v Rakovníku coby jednom z článků Probační a mediační služby ČR, a to z hlediska probačních a mediačních činností, poradenství pro oběti, všímám si i kauz, kterými se středisko PMS v Rakovníku zabývá. Cílem Diplomové práce je zjištění, jaké jsou možnosti restorativní justice v podmínkách České republiky. Pro účely práce jsem použila některé standardní metody, jimiž v konkrétním případě byly pozorování, měření, komparace, analýza, syntéza, indukce, statistické modely a dotazování.

Abstract:

In my Diploma thesis, I deal with the theme of restorative justice in the Czech Republic. In its theoretical part, I summarize all essential facts concerning related legislation, I further deal with the topic of “Probační a mediační služba České republiky”. I also deal with mediation- and probation- procedures as well as with the topic of alternative punishments. In the practical part of my Diploma thesis, within my practical exploration and investigation, I describe and analyze the activities of the local centre of “Probační a mediační služba ČR” in Rakovník, deal with mediation- and probation- procedures held here. I also mention the Help centre for victims operating there as well. Finally, I also mention and analyze a few causes of the local centre of “Probační a mediační služba ČR” in Rakovník. The objective of this Diploma thesis is to find out, what options are there within the frame of the restorative justice in the Czech Republic. For purposes of this Diploma thesis, following working methods have been applied: observing, measuring, comparing, analysis, synthesis, induction, statistic models and interviewing.
