Analyse Attitudes of University Teachers towards the Tertiary Education of Hearing Impaired Students

Abstract:

Disertační práce je zaměřena na problematiku terciárního vzdělávání studentů se sluchovým postižením, jeho specifika, komunikační techniky užívané mezi vyučujícími na vysoké škole a studenty se sluchovým postižením. Dominantním cílem provedeného výzkumu bylo analyzovat postoje vysokoškolských učitelů na všech fakultách Masarykovy univerzity k terciárnímu vzdělávání studentů se sluchovým postižením a vytvoření manuálu základních postupů jednání se studentem se sluchovým postižením na vysoké škole. Dotazníkové šetření probíhalo v období jaro 2008 a dotázáni byli vysokoškolští učitelé Masarykovy univerzity, kteří se ve své výuce setkali se studentem se sluchovým postižením. Výsledky výzkumu umožnily zpracovat manuál základních postupů jednání se studentem se sluchovým postižením na vysoké škole a formulovat návrhy a opatření pro speciálně pedagogickou teorii a praxi.

Abstract:

This dissertational thesis is focused on the dilemma of the tertiary education of hearing impaired students, its specificity, communicative techniques used by the university teachers and the students with hearing impairment. It has been the major aim of the research which was carried out, to analyse attitudes of university teachers at all faculties of Masaryk University towards the tertiary education of hearing-impaired students at university. The questionnaire search was running in the period of spring 2008 and all the university teachers who had encountered a hearing-impaired student were inquired. Results of this research enabled to compile a manual of fundamental procedures for dealing with a hearing-impaired student at university and to formulate suggestions and proceedings for both theory and practice of Special Education.
