Reasons of the First World War and changes of German policy

Abstract:

Autorka bude ve své práci zkoumat podíl Německa na rozpoutání první světové války. Na základě studia literatury a dostupných pramenů autorka analyzuje politickou situaci v Německu v období od 80. let 19. století až po rok 1914. Pozornost bude věnována také zahraniční politice Německa, zejména srovnání cílů německé diplomacie v éře Bismarcka a Viléma II. Autorka rovněž analyzuje propojení domácí a zahraniční německé politiky v kontextu situace před rokem 1914. Práce bude zejména komparovat období 1871-1890 s obdobím 1890-1914. Tato práce se bude opírat o hypotézu, že kombinace německé zahraniční a domácí politiky představovala primární faktor eskalace napětí vedoucí k vypuknutí první světové války. Tato politika nicméně nebyla součástí Bismarckovské koncepce německé zahraniční politiky, ale vyvinula se až v éře Viléma II.

Abstract:

The author of this thesis deals with German participation of unleashing the First World War. Studying literature and other possible sources, the author analyses the political situation in Germany from 1880 to 1914. Special attention is paid to German foreign policy, especially to comparing the aims of german diplomacy at the times of Bismarck and Wilhelm II. and generally comparing the situations in years 1871 1890 and years 1890 1914. The connection between inner and foreign policy in Germany till 1914 is also mentioned. The author sets this hypothesis: combination of german inner and foreign policy represented a primary factor of stress escalation, ending in start of First World War. Nevertheless, this policy was first developed in the era of Wilhelm II. and was not part of Bismarcks political conceptions.
