Advancement of Services in Children’s Library in the town of Tišnov

Abstract:

Bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním kvality služeb v dětském oddělení Městské knihovny Tišnov. Teoretická část zkoumá aktuální stav zkoumané knihovny, jiných českých dětských knihoven i knihoven v zahraničí. Cílem této části je zjistit, jaké jsou dnešní trendy v oblasti dětských oddělení a potenciál jejich služeb. Teoretická část se také zabývá samotnými čtenáři, jejich chováním a důvody pro návštěvu knihoven a dětských oddělení. Práce proto zkoumá různé pohledy na dětského čtenáře a rodinné příslušníky a věnuje se i faktorům, které mohou ovlivňovat návštěvnost knihoven. Praktickou část tvoří kvantitativní dotazníkové šetření, jež bylo provedeno v dětském oddělení Městské knihovny Tišnov. Cílem bylo zmapování současné situace a zjištění, jak čtenáři hodnotí aktuální nabídku služeb oddělení. Dalším cílem bylo získat od respondentů návrhy a podněty, které se týkaly možného doplnění či rozšíření služeb a dalších parametrů knihovny.

Abstract:

The bachelor diploma work deals with the research of quality of services in the children department in the public library of the Tišnov town. The theoretical part describes recent state of the examined library, other Czech children libraries and libraries in other countries. The goal of this part is to find out what are today’s trends of children libraries and potential of their services. The theoretical part also deals with the readers themselves, their behaviors and reasons to visit libraries and children departments. For this reason, the work examines various points of views at young reader and family members and examines factors, which may affect traffic of libraries. The practical part consists of quantitative questionnaire research that was made in the children department of the public library of the Tišnov town. The goal was to chart the current situation and to find out, how the readers rate the current offer of services in the department. Another goal was to gain suggestions and initiatives to improve or broaden the services and other library parameters.
