The kinematics of knee joint during running in preschool children

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je popsat pohyby kolenního kloubu v průběhu stojné fáze běžeckého krokového cyklu v sagitální rovině u dětí předškolního věku. Druhým cílem je porovnat rozdíly kolenního kloubu v průběhu stojné fáze běžeckého krokového cyklu při běhu ve sportovní obuvi a na boso. Aby jsme dosáhli těchto cílů, bylo nutné využít trojrozměrné kinematické analýzy pomocí optoelektronické stereofotogrammetrie (Qualisis) a následně vyhodnotit výsledky v program Visual3D. Do studie bylo zapojeno 5 dětí v předškolním věku (průměrný věk 5 let; rozsah 3-6 let, průměrná hmotnost 20,6 kg a výška 116,4 cm). Zákonní zástupci v orientačním dotazníku uvedli, že děti pravidelně nesportují a netrpí žádným onemocněním souvisejícím se svalově kosterním a centrálně nervovým systémem. Tato bakařlárská práce slouží jako pilotní studium pro popsání kinematiky kolenního kloubu v sagitální rovině. Dosud bylo publikováno jen několik málo prací, které se touto problematikou zabývaly. Avšak je již známo, že kolenní kloub při běhu hraje důležitou roli. Výsledky měření v obuvi: počáteční kontakt 26°-35°, maximální úhel v koleni 46°-62° a při opuštění podložky 19°-35°. Výsledky měření na boso: počáteční kontakt 27°-42°, maximální úhel v koleni 44°-56°, a při opuštění podložky 22°-37°. Studie potvrdila, že se liší kinematika kolenního kloubu dětí předškolního věku při běhu na boso i v běžecké obuvi oproti kinematice kolenního kloubu dospělých, konkrétně ve velikostech naměřených úhlů. Rozdíly byly rovněž zaznamenány mezi jednotlivými dětmi předškolního věku.

Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to describe the movements of the knee joint of preschool children during the standing position of the treadmill step in the sagittal plane. The second aim is to compare the knee joint differences during the staging phase of the running foot cycle in sport shoes and barefoot. In order to achieve these goals, it was necessary to use three-dimensional kinematic analysis using the optoelectronic stereofotogrammetry (qualisis) and then evaluate the results in the visual 3D program. Five pre-school children (average age of 5 years, range od 3-6 years old, average weight 20,9 kg and height of 116,4 cm) were included in the study. The legal representatives of the children stated in the questionnaire that the children do not regularly do any types of sports and do not suffer from any disease related to the musculoskeletal and central nervous system. This Bachelor thesis serves as a pilot study for the kinematics of the knee joint in the sagittal plane. So far only a few studies have been published to address this issue. Measurement results shoes: initial contact 26°-35°, maximal angle 46°-62° and toe off 19°-35°. Measurement results barefoot: initial contact 27°-42°, maximal angle 44°-56°, and toe off 22°-37°. Nevertheless, it is already known that the knee joint plays an important role in running. The study suggested that the kinematics of the knee joint of preschoolers differ in running barefoot and in running shoes in comparison with the knee joint of adults, especially in measured angles. Differences were also noted between individual preschoolers.
