Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá nesprávnou výslovností vybraných anglických fonémů českými mluvčími třech věkových kategorií. Cílem je určit nejčastěji špatně vyslovovaný foném a kategorii s nejlepší a nejhorší výslovností. Teoretická část je zaměřena na jazykovou oblast fonetiky a fonologie, osvojování druhého jazyka a historii výuky angličtiny v České republice. Praktická část představuje metodologii použitou při výzkumu a analyzuje výslovnost respondentů zaznamenanou v programu Praat. Výsledky výslovností jsou dále porovnány s faktory, které ovlivňují osvojování druhého jazyka, jako je věk, vzdělání nebo cestování.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is concerned with the mispronunciation of selected English phonemes by Czech speakers of three different age categories. The aim is to determine the most mispronounced phoneme and the group of respondents with the best and the worst pronunciation. The theoretical part focuses on the linguistic field of Phonetics and Phonology, second language acquisition, and the history of English teaching in the Czech Republic. The practical part introduces the methodology used during the research and analyses the respondent's pronunciation recorded in the Praat program. Furthermore, the pronunciation outcomes are contrasted with the second language acquisition factors, such as age, education or travelling.
