Protein BRCA1 vzniká expresí nádorového supresoru, genu BRCA1, k jehož mutacím dochází často v souvislosti s rakovinou prsu a vaječníku. Protein BRCA1 je 1863 aminokyselin velký jaderný fosfoprotein, který se účastní mnoha procesů v buňce, jako je rozpoznání poškození DNA a jeho oprava. Abstract:
The BRCA1 protein is encoded by the tumour suppressor gene, BRCA1, mutations in which often occur in connection with breast and ovarian cancer. The BRCA1 protein is a large nuclear phosphoprotein of 1863 amino acid residues that is implicated in many cellular pathways including DNA damage recognition and its repair.
