Numerical methods of constrained optimization with applications in transportation modelling problems

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním dvou metod úpravy dopravní matice - metody přípustných směrů a metody penalizačních funkcí. Matice přepravních vztahů vznikla z výsledků z kamer, které byly nainstalovány za účelem modelování dopravy ve městě. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. V první kapitole je vysvětlen celý problém a v druhé kapitole je uvedena teorie. Výsledky obou metod jsou prezentovány ve třetí kapitole a ve čtvrté kapitole je jejich celkové shrnutí a porovnání.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the comparison of two methods of adjusting traffic matrix - feasible direction method and the penalty method. Both methods are based on optimization theory. The matrix was taken from cameras which were installed to model traffic in a city. The thesis comprises of four chapters. The first chapter consists of the description of the whole problem, the second chapter contains a written theoretical background. The results of both methods are documented in the third chapter, and a summary and comparison of the results are presented in the fourth chapter.
