Standard of Living Comparison of Visegrad Group Countries

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci je porovnána životní úroveň zemí Visegrádské čtyřky. Cílem této práce je zjistit, jak se vyvíjela životní úroveň jednotlivých zemí Visegrádské čtyřky a životní úroveň zemí Visegrádské čtyřky v rámci Evropské unie. Vývoj životní úrovně zemí Visegrádské čtyřky v letech 2004-2019 je uveden na základě vybraných ukazatelů, kterými jsou hrubý domácí produkt, index lidského rozvoje, index lidské chudoby, nezaměstnanost a střední délka života. Z vývoje životní úrovně na základě vybraných ukazatelů v letech 2004-2019 vyplývá, že se nejlépe vyvíjela životní úroveň ze zemí Visegrádské čtyřky v České republice. Na druhé místo se řadí Polsko, třetí je Slovensko a čtvrté je Maďarsko. Také byly porovnány země Visegrádské čtyřky s Evropskou unií v roce 2019 na základě vybraných ukazatelů, kterými jsou hrubý domácí produkt, index lidského rozvoje, index lidské chudoby, nezaměstnanost a střední délka života. Ze srovnání vyplývá, že ze zemí Visegrádské čtyřky v porovnání s EU, je na tom nejlépe Česká republika. Země Visegrádské čtyřky jsou na tom lépe než EU u ukazatelů nezaměstnanosti a indexu lidské chudoby. Dle indexu lidského rozvoje se země Visegrádské čtyřky umisťují ve druhé polovině všech zemí Evropské unie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis compares the standard of living of the Visegrad Four countries. The aim of this work is to find out how the standard of living of individual Visegrad Four countries has developing and the standard of living of the Visegrad Four countries within the European Union. The development of the standard of living of the Visegrad Four countries in the years 2004-2019 is evaluated on the basis of selected indicators, which are gross domestic product, human development index, human poverty index, unemployment and life expectancy. The development of living standards on the basis of selected indicators in the years 2004-2019 shows that the living standards of the Visegrad Four countries are the best in the Czech Republic. Poland is in second place, Slovakia is third and Hungary is fourth. The Visegrad Four countries were also compared with the European Union in 2019 on the basis of selected indicators, which are gross domestic product, human development index, human poverty index, unemployment and life expectancy. The comparison shows that of the Visegrad Four countries, the Czech Republic is the best in comparison with the EU. The Visegrad Four countries are doing better than the EU in terms of unemployment indicators and the human poverty index. According to the Human Development Index, the Visegrad Four countries rank in the second half of all European Union countries.
