A reflective practice in foreign language teachers' work

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá reflektivní praxí v práci lektorů cizích jazyků. Práce je členěna na dvě části – teoretickou a empirickou. V teoretické části práce se zabývám definicí reflektivní praxe, jejími metodami a technikami, potenciály a limity reflektivní praxe a tématem lektora. V empirické části je mým cílem zodpovědět otázku, jaké prvky reflektivní praxe můžeme najít v práci lektorů cizích jazyků. Pro zodpovězení výzkumné otázky jsem použila kvalitativní výzkumné šetření – realizovala jsem hloubkové rozhovory s lektory cizích jazyků.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of a reflective practice in foreign language teachers’ work. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and empirical. The focus of the theoretical part is on defining the term reflective practice, its methods and techniques, benefits and barriers of reflective practice and finally the teacher. The goal in the empirical part of this thesis is to answer the question of what aspects of reflective practice can be found in foreign language teachers‘ work. I used a qualitative research method and conducted in-depth interviews with foreign language teachers in order to answer the research question.
