Syndrom bílého nosu je plísňové onemocnění způsobující rapidní úmrtnost v populacích hibernujících netopýrů v Severní Americe. Chladnomilná plíseň Pseudogymnoascus destructans, která je zřejmě příčinou tohoto onemocnění, byla nalezena i u evropských netopýrů, avšak bez důkazu o jejich zvýšené úmrtnosti. Abstract:
White-nose syndrome is a fungal disease causing massive declines in populations of hibernating bats in North America. Psychrophilic fungus Pseudogymnoascus destructans seems to be the causative agent of the disease. This fungus was found in European bats as well, but with no evidence of their increased mortality.
