The role of nurses in patient education in thoracic surgery.

Abstract:

Pro mou bakalářskou práci jsem si zvolila téma: Úloha sestry v edukaci pacienta u hrudních operací. Práce je zpracována teoreticko-prakticky. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na onemocnění vedoucí k operačním výkonům, nejčastější druhy operačních výkonů a na edukaci pacienta, která se věnuje především pooperační péči, rehabilitaci dýchacích cest a manipulaci s hrudní drenáží. Dále je v bakalářské práci zmíněna předoperační a pooperační péče. V předoperační péči je popsáno, která vyšetření pacienta čekají před operačním výkonem, jaké zásady by měl dodržovat a co musí zdravotní sestra zajistit, aby byl pacient připraven k operačnímu výkonu. Pooperační péče je zaměřena na monitorování nemocného po daném výkonu, na co všechno dbá sestra v pooperační péči, co musí pacient dodržovat a jaké komplikace hrozí po provedeném operačním výkonu. Navazující částí je edukace pacienta, která je zaměřena na edukační proces, který je složen z pěti fází, cílů edukace a dále role sestry v edukaci. V praktické části se zaměřuji na vyhodnocení průzkumu. Ten proběhl formou dotazníkového šetření. Výsledky dotazníků jsou vyhodnoceny v tabulkách a následně znázorněny v grafech. Cíle, které jsem si v bakalářské práci zvolila, byly dosaženy a výsledek je pozitivní. V přílohách bakalářské práce je obrázkové znázornění zavedení drenážního systému a pomůcek nutných pro rehabilitaci dýchacích cest.

Abstract:

The theme of my diploma thesis is 'The Role of Nurse in the Education of Patients Undergoing Chest Surgery'. The thesis itself is of a theoretical as well as practical nature. The theoretical part focuses on illnesses and ensuing surgeries, the most frequent types of surgeries and patient education dealing mostly with post-surgery care, rehabilitation of air passages and chest drainage. Furthermore, pre-surgery and post-surgery care is mentioned in my thesis. In the pre-surgery section, it is described which examinations are available for the patient, which rules should the patient adhere to and what are nurse's pre-surgery duties to prepare patient for surgery. Post-surgery care is focused on patient monitoring. Patient education follows up, dealing with the educational process in five stages, the aims of education and the role of nurse in such education. In the practical section it is dealt with the evaluation of the survey which was carried out as a questionnaire-based research. Survey results are depicted in charts and graphs. The aims of questionnaires were achieved and the results positive. The appendix of my thesis contains pictures of drainage system application and the tools necessary for air-passages rehabilitation.
