The problems of teaching modern history at primary school

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce nazvané „K problematice výuky moderních dějin na ZŠ“ je připomenout důležitost výuky nejnovějších a soudobých dějin, zjistit současný stav výuky a zda-li je jim věnována dostatečná pozornost. Vycházím z aktuálních evropských pohledů na výuku moderních dějin. Zabývám se využitím moderních technologií, pramenů a metod ve výuce. Ve výzkumné části diplomové práce metodou dotazníku zjišťuji, zda je nejnovějším a soudobým dějinám věnována na našich základních školách dostatečná pozornost, jestli vyučující využívají ve svých hodinách aktivizující metody, nové technologie a prameny a dále, co je podle nich cílem dějepisu jako předmětu. Diplomovou prací se snažím upozornit na přetrvávající nedostatky ve výuce moderních dějin, připomínám naléhavost řešit tuto situaci a předkládám doporučení odborníků, jak dějiny 20. století učit.

Abstract:

The aim of the graduation theses called „Questions of modern history education in primary schools“ is to remind of an importance of modern and co-temporary history, to identify its current phase and if it has been given enough attention. I result from the current European evaluation on modern history education. I am concerned with usage of modern technology, sources and metodology in this education.In the exploratory part I identified by using questionare whether the primary schools pay enough attention to modern and co-temporary history, if the teachers use pro-active methods, new technologies and sources in the classes and what is according to the teachers the aim of history as a subject. By writing the graduation theses I try to draw the attention to persisting deficiencies in modern history education, I recall the urgency to address this situation and put forward recommendations to experts, the history of the 20th century learning.
