Europeanisation of the NGOs: a case study of The Centre for Family and Social Care in Brno

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá evropeizací nestátního neziskového sektoru v ČR. Centrálním aspektem výzkumu je otázka, do jaké míry a v jakých sférách jsou NNO ovlivněny procesem evropeizace a jaký to má na ně dopad. Projevy tohoto procesu byly zkoumány u „Centra pro rodinu a sociální péči“(CRSP) v Brně. Cílem bylo analyzovat vliv evropeizace na CRSP a zjistit, do jaké míry jsou známky tohoto procesu viditelné a jaké mají konkrétní důsledky (nakolik se změnila činnost a organizační struktura dané neziskové organizace). Ačkoli autorka také zahrnuje působení evropeizace na celý neziskový sektor a zohledňuje nové možností prosazování zájmů, práce nemá ambice zhodnotit celou tuto oblast – jedná se o případovou studii CRSP. V teoretické části práce je užit koncept evropeizace a zkoumán jeho dopad na NNO. Dále se věnuje charakteristice nestátního neziskového sektoru a způsobům jeho financování. Praktická část je zaměřena na CRSP a jeho jednotlivé projekty financované ze strukturálních fondů EU. Jedná se o case study a bylo využito metod kvalitativního výzkumu, konkrétně hloubkových rozhovorů s projektovým manažerem a pracovníky dané organizace.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with Europeanisation of the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic. The major aspect of the research is the question to how much extent are NGOs influenced by Europeanisation and what kind of consequences does it have on it. Characteristics of these processes were examined by The Centre for Family and Social Care (CRSP) in Brno. The aim of this study was to analyse the influence of the Europeanisation on the CRSP and to find out to how much extent are features of these processes visible and what kind of consequences does it have on it (to what extent has a structure of a non-governmental organisation changed etc.). Although the author covers the influence of the Europeanisation on the whole non-profit sector and bears in mind new opportunities of enforcement of (organisations) interests, the thesis does not aim to evaluate the whole sector as it is just a case study of CRSP. The concept of Europeanisation and its consequences on NGO is described in the theoretical section of the thesis. Furthermore, the thesis examines the characteristics of non-profit sector and its way of funding. The practical section is focused on the CRSP and its projects funded from the EU. The case study uses a qualitative method - especially interviews with project managers and other staff of an organisation.
