Ethnicities and Identity on Social Work

Abstract:

ethnic reality have been presented already since the roots of the social work prefession. the thesis which will examine the responses of social work to ethnic dynamic. In a multicultural society, ethnicity is an element that needs to be taken on board as central feature of any social work intervention (Lorenz 2001). Social work theory and practices highlight that ethnicity is a constructive element in defining social problems, and the minorities? needs and on how they influence a social work intervention. The thesis will examine 1) how the work of professional social workers responds to the presence to ethnicity identities, and, 2) how professional social workers become proactive in adopting a cultural-sensitive approach to community social work
