Analysis and Comparison of the Cultural Potential of Selected Cities in the Ústecký Region

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou a srovnáním kulturního potenciálu 3 vybraných měst Ústeckého kraje - Děčína, Teplic a Ústí nad Labem. Cílem práce je identifikovat faktory, které kulturní potenciál ovlivňují. Výzkum se soustředí na 4 různé oblasti - kvantitu aktuálně chráněných kulturních památek na území zkoumaných měst, podíl výdajů jednotlivých městských rozpočtů na kulturu v letech 2014 - 2018, konané kulturní eventy a aktivitu místních kulturních institucí za rok 2018 a v neposlední řadě vyhodnocuje výsledky dotazníkového šetření, zkoumajícího vztah obyvatel daných měst ke kultuře obecně i ke kultuře ve svých konkrétních městech. Bylo zjištěno, že současná situace v oblasti kultury se jeví nejideálněji ve městě Teplice. Autor ovšem dochází k závěru, že skutečný kulturní a zejména rozvojový potenciál z dlouhodobějšího hlediska skýtá především město Ústí nad Labem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and comparison of the cultural potential of 3 selected cities in the Ústecký Region - Děčín, Teplice and Ústí nad Labem. The aim of this thesis is to identify the factors that affect cultural potential. The research focuses on 4 different areas - the quantity of buildings that are currently under monument protection, in the surveyed cities, the share of municipal budget expenditures on culture in the years 2014 - 2018, cultural events and the activity of local cultural institutions in 2018 and evaluates the results of a questionnaire survey, examining the cities' inhabitants' relationship to culture in general and to culture in their respective cities. It was found that the current cultural situation seems to be most ideal in the city of Teplice. However, the author concludes that in the long run, the real cultural potential and development potential in particular resides primarily with the city of Ústí nad Labem.
