Comparison of Scandinavian countries in the area of business negotiations

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je charakterizovat obchodní jednání v nasledujících Skandinávských zemích: Dánsku, Finsku, Norsku a Švédsku. Další cílem je zjistit zda obchodní jednání v zemích probíhá odlišně.Práce je rozdělena do čtyř částí.První část ppisuje obchodní jednání v obecné rovině. Obchodní jednání je definováno a jeho jednotlivé části jsou popsány. Zároveň se první část zaměřuje na kulturní dimenze definované sociologem Geertem Hofstedem.Druhá část práce se věnuje průběhu obchodního jednání v konkrétních sledovaných zemích. Zároveň jsou porovnány výsledky Hosftedeho dimenzí mezi zeměmi navzájem.Třetí část je věnovaná obchodním vztahům České republiky a jednotlivých skandinávských zemích. V této části jsou předloženy vyplněné dotazníky českých firem, které ve Skandinávii obchodují. Cílem části je dotazníky interpretovat a zjistit, zda se zkušenosti českých firem výrazně liší od teoretických informací z druhé časti.Čtvrtá část je věnována českým firmám, které by chtěly se skandinávskými formami obchodovat.Pomocí SWOT analýzy jsou definovány silné stránky, slabé stránky, příležitosti a hrozby obchodovnání ve Skandinávii. Nakonec jsou obchodní jednání v jednotlivých skandinávských zemích stručně shrnuta.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize business negotiations in following Scandinavian countries: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Another aim of the thesis is to find out whether the trade negotiations in the countries are different.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part focuses business negotiation in general. It defines business negotiation and decribes its indivudial parts. It also concentrates on cultural dimenses defined by sociologist Geert Hofstede.The second part focuses on description of business negotiation in viewed countries. After that countries are being compared on the base of Hofstede's results.The third part is dedicated to business relations between Czech republic and every individual country. This parts presents questionnaires from czech companies trading in Scandinavia. The aim of this part is to interpret the questionnaires and to find out whether the experience of czech companies differ significantly from the theoretical information presented in the second part.The fourth part is devoted to czech companies that would like to trade with Scandinavian companies in the future.SWOT analysis defines the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of trading in Scandinavia. Finally, the business negotiations in the individual Scandinavian countries are be briefly summarized.
