Integration of foreigners into the Czech university environment

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje integraci cizinců do českého vysokoškolského prostředí. Hlavním cílem je zjistit, jaké jsou klíčové problémy, které překáží integraci cizinců ze třetích zemí do české akademické sféry. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části: teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny poznatky spojené s vybranou problematikou, a to metodou literární rešerše. Zde se popisují informace o cizincích v ČR, o podmínkách jejich pobytu v zemi, o českém vysokoškolském prostředí a o integraci. V empirické části je proveden vlastní výzkum v podobě polostrukturovaného hloubkového rozhovoru s deseti cizinci ze třetích zemí. Jeho prostřednictvím se zjišťují informace o tom, jaké jsou důvody pro studium na české univerzitě, s jakými překážkami se potýkají cizinci při integraci a co nebo kdo jim v tomto procesu pomáhá.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is devoted to the integration of foreigners into the Czech university environment. The main objective is to find out what are the key problems that hinder the integration of foreigners from third countries into the Czech academic sphere. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents knowledge related to the selected issue, using the method of literary research based on Czech literature and internet sources. It describes information about foreigners in the Czech Republic, the conditions of their stay in the country, the Czech higher education environment and integration. In the practical part, own research is carried out in the form of a semi-structured in-depth interview with ten foreigners from third countries. It provides information about the reasons for studying at a Czech university, what obstacles foreigners face in integrating and what or who helps them in this process.
