Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je analyzovat festival ve Woodstocku jako kulturní fenomén. Práce se zaměřuje na sociální, politické a kulturní pozadí tohoto festivalu, aby toto potvrdila. Práce vymezuje pojmy mezigenerační problém a nárust populace jako hlavní faktory, které ovlivnily společnost v 60.letech 20.století. Práce komentuje významné milníky ve sféře veřejné, ale i politické. Je zde popsána kultura hippies, protože byli hlavními organizátory a účastníky festivalu ve Woodstocku a jejich ideologie výrazně ovlivnila průběh celého festivalu. Třetí kapitola zkoumá předchůdce festivalu a jejich vliv na festival ve Woodstocku v roce 1969. Záměrem poslední kapitoly, která je věnována přímo festivalu, je analyzovat faktory a rysy, které učinily festival ve Woodstocku kulturním fenoménem.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the Woodstock Festival as a cultural phenomenon. To prove this, the thesis focuses on the social, political and cultural background of the festival. The thesis deals with the terms generation gap and baby boom as the essential factors, which dominated the society of the 1960s. Significant milestones in social as well as political sphere are also commented on. The thesis also describes culture of the hippies, because they were the main organisers and participants of the Woodstock Festival and their ideology significantly influenced the course of the festival. The third chapter examines the precursors of the festival and their impact on the Woodstock in 1969. The intention of the last chapter, which is devoted to the festival itself, is to analyse the factors and features which made the Woodstock Festival a cultural phenomenon.
