An analysis of fashion industry trends in the response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá identifikací hlavních trendů, které se objevily v reakcí na válku na Ukrajině v 2022 roce ve třech segmentech módního průmyslu pomocí případových studií šestí globálních společností. V práci se snaží na základě objevených hlavních trendů předvídat následující reakce celého módního průmyslu, přičemž se odhalují hlavní problémy už existujících reakcí značek. Výzkum je proveden formou analýzy reakcí klíčových hráčů každého z třech segmentů na válku, které byly značkami zveřejněné po 24.února 2022. Výsledky jsou následně porovnání mezi sebou a se zjištěními teoretické části k tématu a zasazeny do kontextu. Na základě objevených trendů a jejich problému byli vytvořeny doporučení pro značky, které se teprve rozhodují zapojit do podpory Ukrajiny.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on identifying the main trends that have emerged in response to the 2022 war in Ukraine in three segments of the fashion industry using case studies of six global companies. Based on the main trends discovered, the thesis attempts to predict the following reactions of the entire fashion industry, while revealing the main problems of the brands' already existing responses. The research is conducted by analyzing the reactions of key players in each of the three segments to the war that has been published by brands after 24 February 2022. The results are then compared with each other and with the findings of the theoretical section on the topic and put into context. Based on the trends discovered and most frequently appeared problems, recommendations were made for brands that are yet to decide to engage in support of Ukraine.
