Economic Impacts of Antimonopoly Regulation within the Global Market – Institutional Analysis of Electricity Market

Abstract:

Předmětem předložené diplomové práce je představení a srovnání teorie a praxe antimonopolní politiky v ČR i na jednotném vnitřním trhu EU. Práce se věnuje aktuálním problémům antimonopolní regulace evropského trhu elektrické energie a jejím dopadům na efektivitu odvětví. Cílem práce je za pomoci praktických příkladů ukázat, jaký vliv má antimonopolní regulace na konkurenci energetických subjektů a její dopad na tržní prostředí v rámci členských států i Evropské unie. Vzhledem k situaci na trhu s elektrickou energií bude pozornost věnována jedné oblasti soutěžní politiky, jíž je zneužívání dominantního postavení. V teoretické části práce provedu rozbor současné energetické a antimonopolní politiky. V praktické části pomocí analýzy konkrétních případů poukáži na ekonomické dopady, které s sebou regulace této oblasti nese.

Abstract:

The topic of the presented master thesis is the introduction to and comparison of the theory and experience of antitrust policies in the Czech Republic and aslo withiin the internal market of EU. The thesis adresses current problems of the antitrust regulations of the European eletricity market and its implications on the efectivity of the sector. The aim of the thesis is to show the impact of antitrust regulation on the competition of energy subjects and its impact on the market enviroment of Member States and the European Union with the aid of practical problems . With regard to the situation of the eletricity market, the attention will be given to one area of antitrust policy, which is the abuse of dominant position. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I will conduct the analysis of the current energetic and antitrust policy. In the practical part I will point to the economical impact of the regulation in this area by analyzing concrete cases.
