Experiential Education in the Secondary Drug Prevention

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce s tématem Zážitková pedagogika v sekundární drogové prevenci je popsat, jak klienti terapeutické komunity pro závislé na nealkoholových drogách vnímají programy zážitkové pedagogiky. V teoretické části je práce zaměřena na popis pojmů zážitkové pedagogiky, zážitku a prožitku, učení zážitkem a zážitkově pedagogických programů s důrazem na reflexi, která je pro tyto programy typická. Dále jsou v práci popsány terapeutické komunity a specifika terapeutických komunit pro závislé na nealkoholových drogách. Závěr teoretické části pojednává o konkrétních dvou zážitkově pedagogických programech, které se v rámci empirické části práce ukázaly být klíčovými. K odpovědi na hlavní výzkumnou otázku Jak klienti terapeutické komunity vnímají programy zážitkové pedagogiky? je využit kvalitativní výzkum. Metodou sběru dat se staly polostrukturované rozhovory, a to se šesti respondenty, klienty terapeutické komunity pro závislé na nealkoholových drogách. Analýza je prováděna otevřeným kódováním a následně popsána technikou vyložení karet.Z výpovědí respondentů vyplynulo, že žitá realita zážitkové pedagogiky vypadá poněkud jinak, než jak zněly jejich definice. V těch uvádějí, že zážitkově pedagogické programy provází zábava, příjemné okamžiky, a přesto popisují, že při konkrétních aktivitách, které označují jako zážitkově pedagogické, jim vyplouvají na povrch špatné vzpomínky. Přesto z rozhovorů vyplynulo, že programy zážitkové pedagogiky vnímají jako dobrý způsob objevení něčeho nového v nich samých. Nahlížení respondentů na zážitkovou pedagogiku je do velké míry ovlivněno tím, že jsou klienty terapeutické komunity pro závislé na nealkoholových drogách, což přináší určitá specifika.

Abstract:

The aim of the Bachelor’s thesis entitled Experiential Education in the Secondary Drug Prevention is to define how the clients of the therapeutic community for non-alcoholic drug addicts perceive the programs of experiential education. In the theoretical part, the thesis is focused on the description of the concepts of experiential education, experience and enjoyment, teaching with the use of experience and of the experiential educational programs with the emphasis on the reflection that is typical for these programs. Then there are therapeutic communities and specifications of therapeutic communities for non-alcoholic drug addicts described in the thesis. The ending of the theoretical part deals with two particular experiential educational programs that turned out to be crucial in the empirical part. To answer the main research question How the clients of the therapeutic community perceive the programs of the experiential education? a qualitative research is used. The method of the data acquisition were semi-structured interviews, with six respondents, clients of the therapeutic community for persons addicted to non-alcoholic drugs. The analysis is carried out by an open codification and consequently defined by the technique of the showdown. On the respondents’ utterances ensued that the lived reality of experiential education looks different than how they defined it. In these definitions the clients mention that the experiential educational programs are accompanied by an entertainment, pleasant moments, nevertheless they relate that with particular activities which they indicate as experiential educational, bad memories supervene. Though, on the interviews ensued that they perceive the programs of the experiential education as a good way to discover something new in themselves. The attitude of the respondents to the experiential education is largely affected by the fact that they are clients of the therapeutic community for persons addicted to non-alcoholic drugs, which bears certain specificities.
