Sludge from the sewage treatment plants as an alternative fuel for the cement works with the focus on company Lafarge Cement a.s. Čížkovice

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na možnost využití čistírenských kalů z průmyslových a komunálních čistíren odpadních vod jako alternativního paliva pro cementárnu Lafarge Cement, a.s. Čížkovice. V teoretické části práce je obecný popis čistírenských kalů, jejich vznik, charakteristika, zpracování a možnosti využití se zvláštní pozorností věnované termickému využití kalů, které je v současné době velmi diskutovaným tématem. Úvodem praktické části je popis technologického zařízení společnosti Lafarge Cement, a.s. Čížkovice a stručné seznámení s jednotlivými čistírnami odpadních vod, kde byly prováděny odběry vzorků kalů pro jednotlivé analýzy. Následují konkrétní analýzy vzorků kalů prováděných v cementárně Čížkovice. Mezi použité analýzy patří stanovení pH, stanovení sušiny a vlhkosti kalu, stanovení výhřevnosti, dále stanovení obsahu chlóru, síry a těžkých kovů. Výsledky jednotlivých analýz jsou porovnány v cementárně s běžně užívaným alternativním palivem pod obchodním názvem Sludge.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on the possibility of usage of the sewage sludge from the industrial and communal wastewater treatment plants as an alternative fuel for the cement mill Lafarge Cement, a.s. Čížkovice. In the theoretical part there is a general description of the sewage sludge, their formation, characteristics, processing and the application opportunities with a particular attention given to the thermic sludge utilization, which is nowadays widely discussable topic. In the opening of the practical part there is a description of the technological equipment of Lafarge Cement, a.s. Čížkovice and a brief introduction of various wastewater treatment plants where the samplings of the sludge for individual analyses were carried out. The concrete analyses of the sludge samples carried out in the cement mill in Čížkovice follow. The applied analyses include the assessment of pH, the determination of the dry matter and the moisture content of the sludge, the formulation of the calorific value, hereinafter the determination of the contents of chlorine, sulphur and heavy metals. The findings of the analyses in the cement mill are compared with the commonly used alternative fuel with the trade name Sludge.
