IT portfolio for car production at VW Group’s low-cost foreign plant

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na představení a analýzu IT systémů a IT infrastruktury nutnou pro výrobu vozu v závodě koncernu VW. Cílem práce je vytvoření ucelené informace o klíčových systémech a IT infrastruktuře, společně s patřičnými náklady na tyto technologie. Autor práce se také zaměřil na zásadní rozdíly v případě mateřského a zahraničního xKD závodu koncernu VW a provedl komplexní analýzu všech IT systémů vstupujících do procesu výroby vozu, napříč všemi funkčními oblastmi společnosti Škoda Auto a. s. Výstupem práce je pak komplexní kontextový diagram IT systémů a seznamy výrobních IT portfolií obou druhů výrobních závodů. Práce bude sloužit jako jeden z podkladů k zapracování nově příchozích členů IT oddělení zahraničních projektů FIP/9.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the introduction and analysis of the IT systems and IT infrastructure required for the production of a car in a VW Group plant. The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive picture of the key systems and IT infrastructure, together with the appropriate costs of these technologies. The author of the thesis also focused on the fundamental differences between the mother and foreign xKD plant of the VW Group and performed a comprehensive analysis of all IT systems entering the car production process, across all functional areas of Škoda Auto a. s. The output of the thesis is then a comprehensive context diagram of IT systems and lists of production IT portfolios of both types of production plants. The thesis will serve as one of the basis for the onboarding of the newly arrived members of the IT department for foreign projects.
