Analysis awareness of african and czech pupils about the geography of the world

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce je provést analýzu a komparaci povědomí afrických a českých žáků 2. stupně základních škol o geografii světa. V rámci vlastního empirického šetření autorka pořídí přiměřený vzorek mentálních map od obou skupin žáků, provede dotazníkové šetření a rozhovory s učiteli zúčastněných žáků. Je důležité, aby se autorka zaměřila rovněž na podmínky (reflexe českého a zanzibarského, resp. tanzanského geografického kurikula, prostředí školy, dostupných výukových pomůcek a dalších materiálů, časové dotace pro zeměpis atd.), v rámci něhož mapy vznikaly a případně vyhodnotila vliv jednotlivých faktorů na pořízené mentální mapy a informovanost žáků. Na základě následné syntézy poznatků se autorka pokusí nastínit možnosti a opatření pro zvýšení kvality v obtížných podmínkách afrického geografického vzdělávání. Práce v sobě bude propojovat řadu dílčích disciplín, ať už se jedná o oborovou didaktiku, regionální a sociální geografii, kulturní geografii, kartografii či vizuální antropologii.

Abstract:

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyze and compare the awareness of African and Czech pupils of the 2nd grade of primary schools about the geography of the world. In the framework of its own empirical investigation, the author will make a reasonable pattern of mental maps from both groups of pupils, conduct a questionnaire survey and interviews with teachers of participating students. It is important that the author also focuses on the conditions (Czech and Zanzibar, respectively Tanzanian geography curriculum, school environment, available teaching aids and other materials, geography time grants, etc.) under which the maps were created and, where appropriate, the influence of the various factors on the acquired mental maps and the information of the pupils. Based on the follow-up synthesis of the findings, the author will try to assess the possibilities and measures to improve quality in the difficult conditions of African geography. The work will interconnect a number of sub-disciplines, whether it is field didactics, regional and social geography, cultural geography, cartography, or visual anthropology.
