Barriers of Adaptation of a Child Into a Foster Family. Qualitative case study.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá procesem umístění dítěte do pěstounské péče a následné adaptace dítěte do pěstounské rodiny. Odpovídá na otázku Jaké jsou hlavní bariéry adaptace na umístění dítěte do pěstounské péče?. V teoretické části je popsána pěstounská péče jakožto forma náhradní rodinné výchovy, uveden význam fungující rodiny pro dítě a popsán postup umísťování dítěte do pěstounské péče. Dále je vymezen pojem adaptace a k tématu přizpůsoben Chenův model Program theory, pomocí kterého jsou zmapovány hlavní složky podílející se na umístění dítěte do pěstounské rodiny. Práce se soustřeďuje jednak na období hledání vhodné rodiny pro dítě a dále na období probíhající adaptace po příchodu dítěte do pěstounské rodiny. Empirická část zahrnuje návrh a výsledky provedeného výzkumu metodou rozhovorů s pěstouny, sociálními pracovníky OSPODu a pracovníky ústavních zařízení, a podává přehled bariér adaptace dítěte z pohledu respondentů.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the proces of placement of a child into a foster care and on the adaptation of a child into a foster family. The purpose of this thesis is to answer the question: What are the main barriers of an adaptation of a child into a foster care?. In the theoretical part of the thesis is described the foster care as a sort of substitute family upbringing, the importance of functioning family. Also there is the procedure of placement of a child into a foster family, concept od adaptation and the Chen’s Program theory depicted. The empirical part improves the Chen’s model Program theory to chart the main components participated in the proces of placement and is focused on two periods – searching the family for the child and the adaptation stage. The research realized with foster parents and with social workers shows a list of barries of adaptation of the child.
