Shared reading and its influence on second graders reading comprehension

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na metodu sdíleného čtení a její vliv na čtení s porozuměním žáků druhé třídy. Cílem je zjistit, zda sdílené čtení pozitivně přispívá k rozšiřování slovní zásoby, porozumění hlavním bodům příběhu a zda povzbuzuje žáky k samotnému čtení. Teoretická část popisuje mladší žáky v souvislosti s cizím jazykem, dále je představeno čtení a s ním mladší žáci a metoda sdíleného čtení. Praktická část je založena na akčním výzkumu a sdíleném čtení aplikovaném v pedagogické praxi s žáky druhé třídy. Podrobně jsou představeny čtyři vyučovací hodiny doplněné reflexí, a nakonec jsou porovnána a vyhodnocena data akčního výzkumu.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis concentrates on the method of shared reading and its influence on second graders´ reading comprehension. The aim is to find out if shared reading positively contributes to vocabulary expansion, understanding the main points of the story and if it encourages pupils to read. The theoretical part describes young learners and their connection to a foreign language. Furthermore, reading and young learners and the method of shared reading are presented. The practical part is based on action research and shared reading applied in teaching practice with a class of second graders. Four lessons with reflection are introduced in detail and lastly, the research data are compared and evaluated.
