The position of France in the international relations during the 40's and 50's in the 20th century

Abstract:

V mé bakalářské práci se snažím definovat postavení Francie na poli mezinárodních vztahů na přelomu 40. a 50. let 20. století. Francie vychází z druhé světové války zničená a ztrácí své dosavadní velmocenské a hegemonní postavení. V poválečném období se musí vypořádat hned s několika vlivy, aby si získala zpět své dřívější postavení. Svět je nyní rozdělen do dvou bloků mezi SSSR a USA. V tomto bipolárním rozdělení se Francie přiklání k západnímu bloku a k USA, kdy může čerpat jejich finanční podporu k ekonomické obnově země. Zároveň se ale snaží ponechat si svůj vliv ve svých koloniích, což se jí nedaří, protože je příliš zaměstnaná svoji vnitropolitickou situací. Ale i v této situaci najde východisko a chopí se iniciativy v začínajícím procesu evropské integrace a opět si získá své postavení v popředí veškerého dění v Evropě.

Abstract:

In my thesis, I am trying to define the position of France in the international relations during the postwar period of 40's and 50's. The second world war was a destroying event for all Europe and also for France. The country who held its position of the hegemon and power in the world till now,is ruined and lost its influence. In this period, there are many influences to fight with. The rising power of the communism, the decolonisation and the cold war. The world is separated into two blocks. France is slowly becoming the part of the western block so that it can profit from the financial help of the US in the form od Marshall plan for recovery. France also losts its influence in its colonies because there are many problems inside the country to resolve. But also in this difficult time, France succeeded to find a way from it and it started the process of the european integration and became the leader country in Europe again.
