Cílem práce je analýza daně z nemovitostí, z hlediska jejího vymezení a z hlediska její správy, ale také nastínění řady problémů, které současná úprava přináší. Neomezuje se však pouze na popis právní úpravy, ale snaží se i o postihnutí ostatních souvislostí a institutů, které správu daně z nemovitostí nějakým způsobem ovlivňují, např. způsob spolupráce správců daně a katastru nemovitostí.
