The role of social worker of the department of social and legal protection of children in cases concerning child abuse and neglect.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rolí sociálního pracovníka orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí v oblasti problematiky týrání, zanedbávání a zneužívání dětí. V teoretické části se věnuje historickému vývoji sociálně-právní ochrany dětí, avšak nabízí také vhled do formování termínu syndrom CAN. Postupně je pozornost přesunuta k orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí, novelizacím ovlivňujícím tuto oblast a rovněž také k osobnosti sociálního pracovníka, jeho kompetencím a působnostem. Praktická část je zaměřena na samotné sociální pracovníky, přičemž je za pomoci kvalitativních metodologií, polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a obsahové analýzy zkoumána jejich role v problematice syndromu CAN.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the role of a social worker of the socio-legal child protection body in child abuse and neglect. The theoretical part covers not only the history of the socio-legal child protection, but also an insight into the CAN syndrome emergence. The scope of the thesis then shifts to the socio-legal child protection body, cognate amendments, and finally to the social worker's personality, their expertise and their remit. The practical part inquires into the social workers further still, namely their role in the CAN syndrome issue, which is analysed using qualitative methodologies, semi-structured interviews and content analysis.
