Use knowledge of forensic psychology in the work of a lawyer

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to provide the reader with a general overview of the usage of the methods of forensic psychology in the lawyers' work. In the paper I introduce first of all briefly the concept of legal psychology and also the history of psychology as a science and the history of forensic psychology from the beginning of its existence to nowadays. Then I intend to clarify some basic notions and the categorisation of forensic disciplines. The core of the thesis concerns the usage of psychological knowledge and factors in the work of the lawyers. I intend to introduce the reasons of the appearance and mechanisms of the development of psychological inaccuracies that constitute a basis for social disintegration of the person. In the following chapters I deal with the important status of ethics in legal work and the professional rules of ethics for lawyers, then with the socio-psychological phenomena that influence the legal work at the beginning of the 21st century. My conclusions emphasize the utmost importance of the science of forensic psychology in the legal profession.

Abstract:

Cieľom tejto bakalárskej práce je poskytnúť všeobecný prehľad o využití poznatkov forenznej psychológie v práci právnika. V práci oboznamujem čitateľa stručne s históriou a významom psychológie práva ako aj v krátkosti opisujem históriu psychológie ako vedy a taktiež aj históriu forenznej psychológie od jej začiatkov až do dnešnej doby. Ďalej popisujem a vysvetľujem niektoré základné pojmy a čitateľa oboznamujem s členením forenzných disciplín. V ďalšej časti sa zaoberám popisom uplatnenia psychologických poznatkov a faktorov v práci právnika. Na túto tému nadväzujem aj popisom príčin a mechanizmov vzniku a vývinu psychických porúch, ktoré sú príčinou sociálneho zlyhania. V nasledujúcich kapitolách sa venujem taktiež dôležitej téme, ako sú etika právnického povolania a pravidlá profesionálnej etiky právnikov. V nasledujúcom bloku práce sa venujem sociálno-psychologickým javom ktoré ovplyvňujú prácu právnika na začiatku 21. storočia a v závere popisujem význam forenznej psychológie ako takej pre právnickú profesiu.
