Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá aplikací metody zážitkové pedagogiky v hodinách anglického jazyka. Cílem práce je posoudit vhodnost této metody pro jazykovou výuku na druhém stupni základní školy. Práce se obzvlášť zaměřuje na reflexi a pokouší se identifikovat vhodné způsoby, jak reflexi efektivně zařadit do výuky založené na zážitkové metodě. Zabývá se také možnostmi vhodné adaptace tradičních aktivit založených na metodě zážitkové pedagogiky pro prostředí jazykové výuky. Za účelem identifikace možností a limitů metody a zodpovězení výzkumných otázek bylo vytvořeno deset lekcí angličtiny založených na metodě zážitkové pedagogiky a následně pilotováno na vyšším stupni základní školy. V teoretické části je představeno několik teorií, které mají souvislost s uvedenou metodou a její historií. Některé z těchto teorií se objevují v praktické části práce a demonstrují relevanci určitých rozhodnutí a postupů v rámci praktického výzkumu. Pilotované lekce jsou detailně zanalyzovány a výstupy, které se zakládají jak na sebereflexi a vlastním pozorování, tak na hodnocení studentů, jsou následně využity pro zformulování závěrů výzkumu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is centred around the application of experiential learning method in English language classes. The aim of this thesis is to determine the relevance of this method in formal secondary school setting. Furthermore, the research is particularly focused on the reflective part of experiential learning process. It tries to identify the effective ways to turn reflections into a working part of experiential language classes. Besides, the thesis also deals with the adaptation of traditional experiential learning activities into language class setting. In order to identify its possibilities and limitations of the presented concepts and answer the research questions, there were ten English lessons developed on the basis of experiential learning method and subsequently piloted in one lower secondary English class. To show the connections of experiential learning method with language education, several influential theories related to this method and its history are presented. Some of these theoretical foundations are later used in the practical part to demonstrate the relevance of some decisions within the action research. The piloted lessons are detailed analysed and the outcomes from this analysis as well as from the students´ evaluations are consequently used to formulate the conclusions of the research.
