Adapting the Cannibal: The Gothic Essence of Hannibal Lecter
Abstract:
Tato práce se soustředí na gotické aspekty postavy Hannibala Lectera v krimi románu "Červený drak" Thomase Harrise, kde je Lecter pouze vedlejší postavou. Zabývá se adaptačním přístupem seriálové adaptace "Hannibal" televize NBC a analyzuje jak samotná adaptace, založená primárně na Lecterových gotických aspektech, přispěla ke změně žánru za pomocí silně audio-vizuálního filmového stylu.
Abstract:
This thesis pinpoints the Gothic features of the character of Hannibal Lecter in Thomas Harris' crime novel "Red Dragon", where Lecter functions as a secondary character. It draws attention to the adaptation issues connected to the NBC adaptation "Hannibal" and explains how the adaptation, based largely on Lecter's Gothic features, contributed to a genre change with the help of a heavy aural-visual …more
