Issue of Stress Coping in Families Trained Children with Handicap

Abstract:

Cíl: Cílem práce bylo posoudit zvládání zátěže v rodině s handicapovaným dítětem v pojetí hardiness. Dílčími cíli práce bylo zjistit funkčnost této rodiny, zhodnotit míru odolnosti a kompenzační mechanizmy v zátěžových situacích. Metodika: Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 90 rodičů handicapovaných dětí, kteří souhlasili s vyplněním anonymního dotazníku. Dotazníkové šetření (listopad 2010 a leden 2011) bylo realizováno standardizovanými hodnotícími nástroji: Family hardiness index a Dotazník Apgarové skóre rodiny. Výsledky: Z výsledků vyplynulo, že rodiny s handicapovanými dětmi, jsou z velké části odolné při zvládání zátěže. Šetřením bylo dále zjištěno, že rodiny jsou převážně funkční. Průzkum potvrdil, u rodin s handicapovanými dítětem, že využívají kompenzačních mechanizmů pro zvládání zátěže. Jde především o komunikaci uvnitř rodiny, plánování v rodině, společné trávení volného času, aktivní a pozitivní přístup k řešení problémů a komunikace s vnějším prostředím. Závěr: Zásadním krokem pro zvládání zátěže v rodině s handicapovaným dítětem, je umožnit rodině, aby žila smyslným a plnohodnotným životem, bez omezení. Pro další výzkum hardiness rodiny by bylo vodné výzkum doplnit případovou studii rodiny s handicapovaným dítětem, aby se mohlo komplexněji pohlédnout na zátěžové situace, se kterými se rodiny s handicapovaným dítětem v průběhu života setkávají. Důležitá je také spolupráce odborníků a rodiny, tak aby se vytvořila vzájemné důvěra právě mezi rodinou a odborníky.

Abstract:

Aim: The aim of this work was to examine family burden when raising a child with disability with respect to family hardiness. Through partial aims of this work I wanted to find out the family functionality, assessment of the level of hardiness and compensation mechanisms during burdensome situations. Methodology: The researched sample consisted of 90 parents raising children with disability agreeable to filling in an anonymous questionnaire. The questionnaire timetable (November 2010 and January 2011) was done through the standard evaluation methods: Family hardiness index and Apgar family score. Results: Out of the results of this study it shows that families with disabled children can on the whole, cope with the burden. I also found out through the assessment that the families are mostly well functioning. The research has proved that the families with disabled child are using compensation mechanisms to cope with the burden. There are mostly the communication within the inner family, planning within the family, joined activities during the leisure time, active and positive approach towards problem solving and the outer environment communication. Conclusion: The crucial part to cope with the family burden, when raising a child with disability is to enable the family to live a meaningful and fully-fledged life without limitations. In order to continue the research of family hardiness it would be appropriate to research an additional case of a family with a disabled child where a more complex view on the burdensome situation can be taken over a lifetime period. The cooperation between the family and the professionals is also important in order to build a mutual confidence in between them.
