Characteristics of the Banking Market in the Czech Republic in 2004 - 2012

Abstract:

Práce analyzuje vývoj českého bankovního trhu v letech 2004−2012 především z hlediska jeho přispění k makroekonomickému rozvoji, cenové stabilitě a upevňování vlastní důvěryhodnosti. Pomocí vybraných údajů ukazuje vývoj bankovní soustavy po vstupu České republiky do Evropské unie v období ekonomického růstu a následné krize. Analyzuje specifika tohoto období a ukazuje jejich vliv na vývoj základních makroekonomických veličin, na strukturu a kvalitu bankovního systému, vývoj jeho aktivit na finančním trhu, jeho hospodářské výsledky, zdokonalování systému řízení rizik bankovního podnikání a opatření, která zajišťují jeho stabilitu, důvěryhodnost a likviditu. Rozebírá vliv krize na české bankovnictví. Ukazuje postavení ČNB v českém bankovním systému jako hlavního článku mezinárodní spolupráce, hájícího zájmy země, podíl ČNB na legislativní činnosti, transformaci mezinárodních norem do vnitřního právního řádu, zabývá se použitím měnových nástrojů a jejich vlivem na ekonomický vývoj a bankovní trh a zkoumá schopnost bankovního systému čelit krizovému vývoji do budoucna. Závěry analýzy ukazují, že český bankovní systém prošel krizí bez vážnějších otřesů, je dobře vybaven kapitálem a má potenciál přispět k dalšímu ekonomickému růstu země.

Abstract:

The thesis analyzes the development of the Czech banking market in the years 2004−2012 primarily in terms of its contribution to macroeconomic development, price stability and strengthening their credibility. Using the selected data shows the evolution of the banking system after the Czech Republic joined the European Union in the period of economic growth and the subsequent crisis. It analyzes the specifics of this period and shows their effects on macroeconomic fundamentals, the structure and quality of the banking system, the development of its activities in the financial market, their economic performance, improving the risk management of the banking business and the measures to ensure its stability, credibility and liquidity. It analyzes the impact of the crisis on the Czech banking. Shows the status of the CNB Czech banking system as the main article of international cooperation, defending the country's interests, share CNB legislative activity, the transformation of international standards within the internal legal order, deals with the use of monetary instruments and their impact on economic development and banking market and examines the ability of the banking system face a crisis developing in the future. These analyzes show that the Czech banking system underwent a crisis without serious upheaval is well equipped with capital and has the potential to contribute to further economic growth.
