Admission of children to kindergarten since two years of age in the Czech Republic in years between 2017 - 2018

Abstract:

Studentky vysokých škol se často dostávají do situace, kdy si musí vybrat, zda se po studium soustředit na budování kariéry, anebo začít zakládat rodinu. Již nyní je možné, aby děti od dvou let věku navštěvovaly mateřské školy, a v dalších letech se tomuto opatření bude muset přizpůsobit stále více mateřských škol. Cílem této práce je zjistit, zda možnost dát své děti do školky již od dvou let věku, výrazným způsobem pomůže studentkám vysokých škol, lépe sladit kariéru a péči o dítě. Velmi důležitým aspektem v tomto rozhodování je možnost práce na částečný úvazek. Ukázalo se, že studentky opravdu stojí o práci na částečný úvazek v kombinaci s malým dítětem, ale bohužel si uvědomují nízkou nabídku těchto postů nebo naopak skutečnost, že mnoho zaměstnavatelů toto neumožňuje. Dle mého výzkumu studentky obecně podporují novelu zákona, která se týká přijímání dětí od dvou let věku do MŠ, ale bohužel se obávají její realizace v České republice.

Abstract:

University students often get into a situation where they have to choose whether to focus on building a career or to start a family. It is already possible for children from two years of age to attend kindergartens, and more and more kindergartens will have to contribute to this measure in the coming years. The aim of this work is to find out whether the opportunity to give their children to kindergarten from two years of age will greatly help university students, better align their careers and care for the child. A very important aspect of this decision is the possibility of part-time work. It turned out that students really care about part-time work combined with a small child, but unfortunately they are aware of the low supply of these jobs or the fact that many employers do not allow this. According to my research, students generally support an amendment to the law on the admission of children from the age of two to the kindergarten, but unfortunately they fear their realization in the Czech Republic.
