Monty Python is a British-American comical group, famous for its controversy and typical humour. Their work mostly burlesques British and European society and its abuses. The aim of this thesis is to identify, describe and demonstrate the postmodern features in Monty Python?s work and at the same time to focus on parallels between European history and Python?s creation. Monty Python je britsko-americká skupina, která se proslavila svým kontroverzním a netypickým humorem. Jejich práce převážně zesměšňuje jak britskou, tak evropskou společnost a její nešvary. Cílem této práce je analyzovat postmoderní prvky, jmenovitě ironii, parodii a koláž, v díle této kontroverzní skupiny a zároveň poukázat na paralely mezi evropskou historií a jejich tvorbou.
