Analysis of gender inequalities in EU countries

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Analýza genderových nerovností v EU“ analyzuje data ze Structure of Earnings Survey 2014. Z těchto dat pak vytváří vlastní datasety pro shlukovou analýzu a t-testy. Hlavní náplní práce je zkoumání rozdílných příjmů mužů a žen v Evropské unii, a také zpracování zjištěných rozdílů pomocí statistické metodiky. Práce je taktéž obohacena o teoretickou rešerši zabývající se legislativně-politickou stránkou gender wage gapu i jejími výzkumnými studiemi. Vlastní praktickou část doprovází statisticky orientovaná metodika. Samotná praktická naplň je tvořena analýzou „gender gap“ koeficientu ve shlukových analýzách a dat průměrných hodinových příjmů pro vybrané soubory. V rámci analýzy dat bylo pro zjištění rozdílů příjmů u práce ve službách použito parametrického t-testu, zatímco u práce v průmyslu neparametrického t-testu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis “Analysis of gender inequality in the EU”, analyses data from Structure of Earnings Survey 2014. Then, from these data, it creates own datasets for cluster analysis and t-tests. The main focus are the differences in earnings of men and women in the European Union, and their processing for statistical methods. The work is also enriched by theoretical research, addressing legislative, politic side of gender wage gap, and also its scientific studies. The own practical part is accompanied by statistically oriented methodology. The practical part alone is formed by analysis of “gender gap” coefficient in cluster analysis, and by annual hour earnings for selected population. In terms of the t-tests, the form of a parametrical t-test is used in services, and the form of a nonparamerical t-test is used in industry.
