Execution a custodial sentence in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analýza výkonu trestu odnětí svobody zaměřená na proces resocializace osob ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody s využitím nových prvků, používaných v rámci projektu „Otevřená věznice“. Práce má teoreticko-empirický charakter. V teoretické části je analyzován a charakterizován výkon trestu odnětí svobody, historie trestu a trestání, včetně legislativního rámce dané problematiky. Podrobně jsou zde popsány programy zacházení, kterými jsou pracovní, vzdělávací a speciálně výchovné aktivity realizované v průběhu výkonu trestu odnětí svobody a následná postpenitenciární péče. V praktické části je realizováno vlastní kvalitativní výzkumné šetření v Otevřené věznici Jiřice zaměřené na využití nových (alternativních) prvků při procesu resocializace, integraci odsouzených a jejich efektivitu.

Abstract:

Bachelor’s thesis deals with the topic „Imprisonment in the Czech Republic“ and it has theoretical-empirical character. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part analyses and describes imprisonment, history of punishment and its administration, including legislative framework of this topic. It describes in detail treatment programs during imprisonment; the programs are working, educational, special guidance activities implemented during the imprisonment and subsequent post-penitentiary care. The practical part consists of own qualitative research in Open Prison Jiřice focused on implementation of new (alternative) elements in resocialization process, integration of sen-tenced individual and their efficiency. The objective of the thesis is to analyze the imprisonment with the focus on resocialization process of individuals serving their sentence with the implementation of new elements used within the project “Open Prison”.
