Turnout in the Czech Republic in the context of the election of the first and second order

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na dedukci volební účasti v kontextu teorie voleb prvního a druhého řádu. Cílem práce je analýza volební účasti vybraných voleb druhého a prvního řádu od vzniku samostatné České republiky. První část bakalářské práce se věnuje teorii voleb druhého řádu se zřetelem k České republice. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na Senát Parlamentu ČR, který bude v práci hlavním ukazatelem voleb druhého řádu. V práci je v teoretické formě podrobně popsán vznik Senátu a zachycen jeho netypický průběh, který má co dočinění s volební účastí v kontextu problematického vnímání této instituce ze strany veřejnosti. Za účelem závěrečného porovnání výsledků volebních účastí voleb prvního a druhého řádu se v práci krátce objeví i teorie voleb prvního řádu, se zřetelem k volbám do Poslanecké sněmovny Parlamentu ČR. Druhá část práce je věnována porovnáním výsledků volební účasti voleb prvního a druhého řádu. Výsledné volební účasti voleb do PS PČR a do Senátu PČR jsou v této části práce důsledně analyzovány a dále vyvozovány závěry s již zmíněnou historií Senátu ČR a dalších možných faktorů ovlivňující politickou participaci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the deductions vote turnout in the context of the theory of second-order elections. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the election turnout selected second and first order of the independent Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis deals with the theory of second order elections focusing to the Czech Republic. Specifically, it focuses on the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, who is going to be at work the main indicator of second-order elections. The thesis is theoretical as described in detail the formation of the Senate and captured his atypical course, which has to do with voter turnout in the context of a problematic perception of this institution from the public. In order to compare the final results of the election turnout of the first and second order work appears briefly and theories election of the first order, in view of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of Czech Republic. The second part is devoted to comparing the results of the election turnout of the first and second order. The final turnout of the elections to the Chamber of Deputies of Czech Republic and the Senate are in this part thoroughly analyzed and conclusions drawn with the aforementioned history of the Senate and other possible factors influencing political participation.
