Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje tématu Evropské unie v zahraniční politice Spojených států amerických. Zabývá se administrativním obdobím posledních dvou prezidentů Donalda Trumpa a Joe Bidena. Práce má stanoven časový rámec mezi lety 2017 až 2023. Donald Trump se stal průkopníkem Twitteru jako nejrychlejšího formátu vyjádření nad určitými situacemi, proto se zde často objevují twitterové příspěvky. Klade si za cíl odpovědět na výzkumné otázky, jak si oba prezidenti vedli v zahraniční politice s Evropskou Unií. Zda byla pro jednotlivé prezidenty Evropská unie důležitá. Nakonec zodpoví otázku, jestli mohou nazvat Evropskou unii spíše partnerem, konkurentem nebo přímo nepřítelem?

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of the European Union in the foreign policy of the United States of America. It covers the administrative period of the last two presidents, Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The thesis has a set time frame between 2017 and 2023. Donald Trump became a pioneer of Twitter as the fastest format of expressing opinions on certain situations, so Twitter posts often appear in the thesis. The aim is to answer research questions about how both presidents fared in foreign policy with the European Union, whether the European Union was important for each president, and ultimately answer the question of whether the European Union can be considered a partner, competitor, or outright enemy?
