Analysis of the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families in the city of Ostrava

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce analyzuje potřeby dětí s poruchou autistického spektra a jejich rodin ve městě Ostrava. Cílem je zmapovat potřeby pečujících a osob s poruchou autistického spektra a jejich naplňování v sociálních službách. V teoretické části se věnuji charakteristice poruch autistického spektra zahrnující jejich etiologii, klasifikaci jednotlivých poruch autistického spektra, společné znaky, diagnostiku a léčbu. Následuje kapitola zabývající se potřebami, jejich dělením, uvedením dvou nejznámějších hierarchií potřeb a potřebami rodin a dětí. Poslední část je věnována problematice sociální práce a potřebám dětí s poruchou autistického spektra a jejich rodin. Výzkumná část zahrnuje výzkumný cíl, kterým je zanalyzovat potřeby dětí s poruchou autistického spektra a jejich rodin ve městě Ostrava. Dále je uveden celkový metodologický rámec výzkumu. Použitou výzkumnou strategií byl kvalitativní výzkum a technikou sběru dat polostrukturovaný rozhovor. Klíčovou částí je analýza získaných dat a výsledky výzkumu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis analyzes the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families in the city of Ostrava. The aim is to map the needs of caretakers and people with autism spectrum disorders and their fulfillment in social services. In the theoretical part I deal with the characteristics of autism spectrum disorders, including their etiology, classification of individual autism spectrum disorders, general features, diagnosis and treatment. The following chapter deals with needs, their division, the introduction of the two most well-known hierarchies of needs and the needs of families and children. The last part is devoted to the issue of social work and the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. The research part includes a research goal, which is to analyze the needs of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families in the city of Ostrava. The overall methodological framework of the research is given below. Qualitative research strategy has been implemented as well as a semi-structured interview technique of data collection. The key part is the analysis of the collected data and research results.
